Elizabeth Connolly hails from the Midwest where she completed her undergraduate and graduate degrees in Studio Art at Northern Illinois University. She began her career in the art studio of Scalamandre’ Silks in Long Island City where she oversaw the production of woven and printed fabrics and wall coverings. Continuing her career in textiles, she became Design Director for a domestic textile mill where she oversaw the development and production of a line of women’s apparel fabrics. After her career in textiles, she pursued and was awarded a Masters in Visual Arts Education from Hofstra University. She loves to work in different types of media including mosaic, cast paper and watercolor but always returns to the loom.

As an advocate for the Arts in Long Beach, she helped to create an arts program for Senior Citizens at the Magnolia Center; she has promoted her work and demonstrated weaving at Arts in the Plaza. She has volunteered her time to teach children about art through various programs throughout the Long Beach School District. She is an active member of the Long Beach Art League. She was one of the lead artists on Home Sweet Home, a community mural project that repurposes the wood from the Long Beach Boardwalk. As a member of the LBNY-Arts Council, she created and managed the Ticket Booth Painting Contest where all 23 booths for the boardwalk were painted by visual artists.
