Demerah Campbell paints watercolor portraits from old and new photographs with reflective backgrounds.
She studied at the Fashion Institute of Technology, Art Students League, New York Academy of Art, School of Sacred Arts, The Finishing School and the Kulick Stark Academy of Byzantine Jewelry.
She now draws on all she was taught from these schools most gifted teachers and applies it to her present work.
Born in New York City. she recently finished a painting of tenement life in New York City around 1945 the end of World War II. The oil painting is about the games children played and how life was without television and air conditioning.
